Who’s a 6 foot 2, 230lb Heavyweight with charm, character,  and a larger-than-life personality that helped him transcended the sport of MMA ?

That would be non other than Kevin Ferguson also known as Kimbo Slice. The man that set YouTube ablaze and made backyard brawling a legitimate space for street fighters and a place to find great fighting talent. 

Even though I worked with superstars in the music industry and in Hollywood, I was a bit starstruck when I met him because he was the guy everyone knew from YouTube that was knocking dudes eyeballs and brains out.

We were introduced by Bas Rutten and I wound up documenting the first week of his training in California. A few years after that, we reconnected for a portrait shoot and I wanted to capture some classic portraits that would last a lifetime.

I asked him, What do you plan on doing when you’re done fighting…..He looked at me with this look and I snapped the shutter as he said, ” I don’t know but it’s gotta include these hands cause that’s all a man’s got. I don’t really know E, cause these hands are what I’ve always worked with.

But it’ll come to me”
